ERA5 Downloaders
Download ERA5 reanalysis data without the complexity of the Copernicus Climate Data Store (CDS). Access ECMWF ERA5 reanalysis data directly from your desktop. Select your variables, define your region on an interactive map, choose the date range, and download a ready-to-use NetCDF file in minutes.
ERA5 is produced by ECMWF through the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S). Air Gudu downloaders access the data through ARCO-ERA5.
No Copernicus account. No CDS registration. No API key. No code. No request queues.
Each ERA5 Downloader is designed around a specific application, from essential weather data to wind and solar energy, agriculture, and weather risk. Each downloader provides a dedicated set of ERA5 variables relevant to its application, which you can download individually or combine in a single request. Simply select the variables you need, define your region on the interactive map, choose the date range, and let the application handle the download.
One-time purchase. Unlimited use.
The Full Edition is a one-time purchase. Download the application once and use it indefinitely, with no subscription, recurring payments, or usage limits. The Free Edition lets you try the workflow before purchasing. It provides a limited set of variables while keeping the same straightforward download process as the Full Edition..
Choose your application below and start working with ERA5 data directly on your computer..
Hourly Surface Data
Weather Essentials Downloader
Download the six most commonly used ERA5 hourly surface weather variables: surface temperature (t2m), dew point temperature (d2m), mean sea level pressure (mslp), 10 m wind components (u10 and v10), and total precipitation (tp). Select the Free Edition to try the downloader with dew point temperature data, or choose the Full Edition for unlimited use.
Wind Energy Downloader
This tool allows you to download a selection of ERA5 variables for wind energy applications, including wind conditions at 10 and 100 m and key atmospheric parameters relevant to site assessment and energy production: 10 m wind components (u10 and v10), 100 m wind components (u100 and v100), surface temperature (t2m), mean sea level pressure (mslp), and surface pressure (sp). Try the downloader for free with surface pressure (sp), or unlock the Full Edition to access all eight variables with unlimited use.
Solar Energy Downloader
Designed for solar energy applications, this tool lets you download nine ERA5 variables covering surface solar radiation, cloud cover, and key atmospheric conditions for site assessment and photovoltaic or solar thermal energy studies: surface solar radiation downwards (ssrd), direct solar radiation at the surface (fdir), clear-sky surface solar radiation downwards (ssrdc), total cloud cover (tcc), 10 m wind components (u10 and v10), 2 m temperature (t2m), 2 m dew point temperature (d2m), and total precipitation (tp). The Free Edition includes total precipitation (tp) to let you test the workflow, while the Full Edition provides access to all nine variables with unlimited use.
